  • Create opportunities along the way for self-discovery.

Itinerary

Travel Day(Optional): March 25: Arrive in San Jose, Costa Rica

Flying into Costa Rica can be a long commute and flight patterns may not accommodate our Day 1 start time. We are happy to provide guide services to transition you on this day at an additional cost. Upon registering we can determine the need for this trip add-on.

March 26th, Saturday, Day 1 --- Meet the group and the guides!

Today we all come together to start our trip. We ask that you arrive at the San Jose, Costa Rica Airport (SJO) prior to 2 p.m. We will await everyone’s arrival and then leave for Turrialba Valley. Our hosts will be awaiting our arrival and will help us into our rooms. Dinner will be a Costa Rican-style family meal to celebrate our arrival. (Meals: Dinner)

March 27th, Sunday, Day 2 --- Canyoning Experience

After a delicious breakfast, we are going to get ready for our first adventure of the week: Canyoning! We will experience a canyoneering adventure where you will make your way down a canyon with five different
waterfalls ranging in height from 20 to 100ft high. We will start and finish with rappelling down some of these waterfalls. After a delicious lunch, we will go to the Sitio de Mata Village where we are going to have a delicious cultural dinner and dances. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

March 28th, Monday, Day 3 --- Raft Pacuare River to Lodge

Today we pack our bags and move locations to the Pacuare Lodge. This lodge is home to the best views on the river and is one of National Geographic's top 5 most scenic places on the planet. The journey to the lodge is half the adventure, as we first take a rafting trip down the Pacuare River, and then traverse two hanging bridges during a ten-minute walk to the lodge. Once there, you'll be able to relax with the legendary view and the sound of the jungle after a full day of adventure. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

March 29th, Tuesday, Day 4 --- Zipline, Tarzan Swing & Waterfall Nature Hike

Today is another full day of adventure! Don’t worry though, you'll still have plenty of time to relax at the lodge after experiencing the infamous Tarzan Swing and Zipline course! The swing will have you swinging hundreds of feet over the river while attached in a harness. There is also a lower platform for those interested in an adventurous swing. After our swing, we will do the zipline course and see the river from a different viewpoint. After lunch, we will take a walk to a beautiful waterfall where we are going to have the chance to slide in and have some fun! During the night we are going to relax around a bonfire. (Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

March 30th, Wednesday, Day 5 --- Rafting Pacuare Canyon and Travel to Caribbean Coast

Today start by rafting through the tropical rainforest and one of the most scenic areas of Costa Rica. We will pass by canyon walls that rise 300ft and pristine 200ft waterfalls that fall into the river. This is what we consider the most scenic area of Costa Rica and thousands of past guests share the same opinion. Then we are going to start our drive to the south Caribbean coast, where the jungle meets the sea! This unique area of Costa Rica is still very much rich in culture and has no high rises like you might find on the pacific. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)

March 31st, Thursday, Day 6 --- SUP time

During the morning, visit the famous Punta Uva Beach voted globally as one of the most beautiful beaches on the planet. Here we will have the Standup Paddle Boards ready and will begin with a flat river float, full of opportunities to see some wildlife. We will make our way past the famous Punta Uva, or "Grape Point," (named for the Sea Grape plant in the region) and on to the nearby coral reef, allowing you a chance to snorkel (depending on the conditions!) In the afternoon you will have time to relax, visit the local town of Puerto Viejo, which is a more vibrant area of the Caribbean. Here there is an Afro- Caribbean influence and you will have the chance to visit shops, get souvenirs, or just enjoy the three beaches that make this unique town one of the best beach towns in Costa Rica. In the evening you can listen to live music in town or head back to the
hotel. (Meals: Breakfast & Lunch )

April 1st, Friday, Day 7 --- Visit Beach in Morning & Travel to San Jose (Airport Hotel)

During the morning you will have your last chance to visit the beach and have a morning in the water or just relax at the hotel. In the afternoon we will make our way back to San Jose allowing you to be close to the airport for your evening arrival. We will have our farewell dinner at the hotel and reminisce on the good times and friends we made over the last week as we pack our minds and bags full of memories and Pura Vida! (Meals: Breakfast & Dinner)

April 2nd, Saturday, Day 8 --- Fly Home!

Today you will be transferred to the San Jose (SJO) airport in order to arrive no less than two hours prior to your flight.
